‘Connections’ An exhibit by Durham artist Barbara Lee Smith

Urban Durham Realty, a new Third Friday venue,  has invited local mixed media artist, Barbara Lee Smith, to show her work in their handsome office spaces. Smith has a long career as a maker, writer, teacher, lecturer and curator, whose work is in many public and private collections around the world, including NC State’s Gregg Museum, as well as the Smithsonian Institutions Renwick Gallery. With an MFA in Mixed Media, Smith works with synthetic materials -Lutradur, made here in Durham – painting, collaging and stitching each work that floats on the wall. A group of smaller works will be displayed only for this event, along with the larger works for the wall.
