Every Day Beauty: Paintings by Anthony Ulinski / Pottery by Doug Dotson

January 21

free

This new exhibit brings together a painter with a potter to show similar approaches in recognizing quiet beauty in every day moments, and works made with immaculate attention to composition and texture. Celebrating the slow moments, the deep look, and noticing the weight of things for a life more slowly and richly lived.

This marks the beginning of a year at PS118 where main exhibitions will integrate works by two artists with similar approaches or sensibilities — but who work in different media.

Anthony has been working out of the same studio space in Raleigh since 1978 (both as a woodworker and a painter)
Doug got his start making pots in Durham and now works from rural Chatham County.

New works in a variety of media have rotated in to many parts of the gallery and this is the last month to see TORN: A Year That Changed Everything by Margaret Sartor on the stage wall.

We will have a reception for these exhibits as well on Saturday, January 29 from 4–6pm.

PS118 hours are now Fridays and Saturdays from 12-8pm (and by appt.) and will expand when covid dissipates and downtown foot traffic picks back up.

Our Broad Street gallery is open M-F, 9-4/5ish
