Our House: Durham Arts Council Student Showcase
August 20 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
An event every month that begins at 6:00 pm on day Third of the month, repeating until August 21, 2021
Last summer, the pandemic prompted a move to the virtual space for “Our House”, our annual exhibit featuring work from Durham Arts Council students and instructors. We’re delighted to feature “Our House” as an in-person exhibit for 2021! The focus for 2021 is on our students, as we celebrate the work they have created through our virtual and onsite classes over the past year. “Our House” will be on view in the DAC Allenton Gallery from June 18 – August 20. The exhibit will be viewable by appointment, and during Third Friday open house hours. “Our House” will be open for drop-in viewing during June Third Friday (6/18), July Third Friday (7/16) and August Third Friday (8/20). Stop by the DAC from 6-8pm to mix and mingle on the outdoor terrace space (masks not required; distancing recommended), and come inside to view the new shows from the Durham Arts Council, and the Durham Art Guild, as well as the ongoing outdoor photography exhibit “Reaching Out to Durham’s Hungry” by Rhonda Klevansky. 25 guests will be allowed inside at any one time – everyone must wear masks, observe social distancing and stay on the main level within the gallery spaces. Can’t make it on Third Friday? We got you: “Our House”, and Durham Art Guild’s “Material and Embodiment”, featuring works by BR Goldstein and Tina Marcus, are available for appointment viewing as well.
